Stage 1 Shotgun

Course Details

This class is for beginners and accomplished students who want to learn the complete operation of their Shotgun for self-defense. It’s designed to achieve a higher level of confidence, more so than the introductory class, and the safety measures you need to handle a defensive Firearm.

This class includes safe gun handling, fundamentals of marksmanship, Manipulation of the Firearm, multiple target engagement, accuracy at multiple distances, and much more.

Participants must provide a State of Alaska background check before participating in this class or have a valid Alaska concealed carry permit or current law enforcement or military identification.

  • $295.00 (cost includes range fees)
  • It is the student’s responsibility to check their schedule before enrolling.
  • Payment is non-refundable/non-transferable.
  • No student substitutions will be accepted.
KNOWLEDGE
  • Safe handling and manipulation of the firearm
  • Fundamentals of marksmanship,
  • Multiple target engagement
  • Accuracy at multiple distances
  • Manipulation of weapon system: loading, unloading, reloading, press checks, malfunction clearances

 

REQUIREMENTS
  • Participants must provide a State of Alaska Background check or have a concealed carry permit, law enforcement, or military identification.
  • Good attitude
  • Minimum 18 years of age (can be discussed on a case-by-case basis)
  • Appropriate clothing for the weather, including a ball cap, closed-toe footwear, and ear and eye protection to ensure your safety
  • Completed application for training
SHOTGUN
  • 350 rounds of #7 bird shot, 25 rounds of 00 buckshot, 35 rounds of slug shot.
  • 12-gauge, 20-gauge pump-action or semi-automatic defensive shotgun or S.B.S.
  • Side Saddle, Dump pouch/carry pouch to carry extra shotgun ammunition
  • An ammunition carrier on the gun would be helpful (side saddle)
  • A good quality single or two-point sling
  • Appropriate clothing for the weather, including a ball cap, closed-toe footwear, and ear and eye protection to ensure your safety
