Handgun intro / Shoot-House

This 2-day introduction course starting from ground zero on the first day, covering the fundamentals from stances, firing grip, proper use of sights rather using standard sights or a red dot system (not a laser sight), trigger control multiple threats with a slant towards protection in the home.

Day 2 will consist of introduction and components of protection of the home incorporating the live fire shoot house, how to search, clear and secure your home. It will also cover a single or 2-person application on how to move through various corridors, hallways and doors.

This a very limited course per numbers of enrollments, only 12 slots will be offered for this course.

KNOWLEDGE

Safe handling and manipulation of the firearm
Fundamentals of marksmanship
Multiple target engagement
Accuracy at multiple distances
Manipulation of weapon system: loading, unloading, reloading, press checks, draw from the holster (handgun only), malfunction clearances.

REQUIREMENTS

Handgun (mid to full-size, no sub or micro compacts)
Holster, 4 magazines, magazine carrier
600 rounds of ammunition
Brown bag lunch and proper clothing
Handgun rental systems available on request for an additional fee

HANDGUN

Additional requirements for those bringing their own firearm:

Full-size or midsize, semi-automatic handgun with at least four magazines
Outside-the-waistband hip holster and magazine pouch
Appropriate clothing for the weather, including a ball cap, closed-toe footwear, and ear and eye protection to ensure your safety
