Students must bring 500 rounds of ammunition, a reliable concealed-carry handgun, magazines, and a magazine pouch. Because this course emphasizes realistic everyday carry, all training is conducted exactly as you carry in real life.
Holsters must be practical, concealment-focused synthetic IWB or OWB holsters. Appendix and strong-side carry methods are emphasized.
Race rigs, competition holsters, leather holsters, and speed setups are not permitted, as they do not support safe or realistic concealed-carry training.
Students should ensure their firearm and gear are clean, functional, and properly fitted. A quality belt and clothing suited for concealed carry will improve both safety and performance on the line.
Throughout the course, instruction reinforces existing strengths, corrects weaknesses, and enhances proficiency in drawing, handling, and decision-making under pressure. The goal is to elevate both confidence and practical defensive capability.
At the end of training, students complete a higher-standard handgun qualification that fulfills all Alaska Concealed Handgun Permit requirements.
